Bihar Public Service Commission Warns Against Fake TRE 4.0 Recruitment Notice

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has issued a stern warning regarding a false recruitment notice for the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE 4.0) that has been circulating on social media platforms and various websites. The commission has categorically denied releasing any official notification about TRE 4.0 application dates or examination schedules.

The fraudulent notice, which gained significant traction online, claimed that applications for BPSC TRE 4.0 would commence on April 25 for 46,882 teaching positions across the state. It further suggested that examinations would be conducted from September 22 to September 27, causing considerable confusion among aspiring candidates.

Through its official account on X (formerly Twitter), the commission clarified that this information was entirely fabricated and had not been issued by BPSC. The commission has urged all candidates and the general public to rely exclusively on official channels for authentic information, specifically directing them to the official website bpsc.bih.nic.in and verified BPSC social media accounts.

This incident comes amid heightened anticipation for teacher recruitment in Bihar. Education Minister Sunil Kumar had previously indicated during a September 2023 press briefing that vacancies under BPSC TRE 4.0 would be announced soon. Following this announcement, media reports had speculated that examinations might take place in December, with results potentially being declared by January.

The delay in the official announcement has already sparked considerable unrest. In October 2023, numerous candidates took to the streets of Patna to demand the immediate release of the recruitment notification. The protesters were specifically calling for the announcement of approximately 1.2 lakh teaching vacancies, significantly more than the number mentioned in the fake notice.

The protests took a controversial turn when student leader Dileep Kumar was arrested in Darbhanga before a planned demonstration in Patna. His arrest generated substantial backlash on social media platforms, with many viewing it as an attempt to suppress legitimate demands of teacher candidates.

The education sector in Bihar has seen consistent recruitment efforts in recent years, with the BPSC conducting multiple rounds of teacher recruitment examinations. Most recently, the commission announced results for TRE 3.0 for Classes 9 and 10 across several subjects on December 17, 2023.

Education analysts point out that the circulation of fake notices reflects the immense pressure on Bihar’s employment market, particularly in the education sector. The state faces significant teacher shortages across primary, secondary, and higher secondary levels, making teaching positions highly coveted among job seekers.

“The spread of misinformation regarding government recruitment is becoming increasingly common,” noted an education policy expert from Patna University. “It creates unnecessary anxiety among candidates and disrupts the systematic processing of actual recruitment drives.”

The BPSC has reminded candidates that spreading unverified information regarding government recruitment processes can create confusion and may adversely affect preparation strategies of genuine aspirants. The commission has emphasized that it follows a transparent recruitment process with all notifications being published through official channels only.

For now, teacher candidates across Bihar are advised to remain vigilant against misinformation and continue their preparation while waiting for the official announcement regarding TRE 4.0, which is expected to be one of the largest teacher recruitment drives in the state in recent years.
