Russia’s Overnight Strikes on Ukraine Kill 25 in Ternopil

A devastating Russian assault on the western Ukrainian city of Ternopil has left at least 25 people dead, including three children, and injured 73 others in what officials are calling one of the most extensive aerial bombardments in recent months.

The overnight attack on Tuesday struck two nine-story residential buildings, according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs. Emergency crews worked through the night to rescue survivors trapped beneath the rubble and extinguish fires that engulfed parts of the structures.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russia launched an extraordinary barrage consisting of more than 470 drones and 48 missiles in the coordinated assault.
