Russia Strikes Kyiv as US Pushes Peace Plan Amid Escalating Ukraine War

Russia launched a series of devastating attacks on Ukraine’s capital early Tuesday, hitting residential buildings and critical energy infrastructure in Kyiv, while Ukrainian forces carried out a counterattack on southern Russia that left three people dead.

The attacks come at a critical moment as the United States intensifies diplomatic efforts to end the nearly four-year conflict, with discussions underway regarding a potential U.S.-backed peace plan.

In Kyiv, emergency services rushed to multiple sites across the city after what Ukrainian officials described as a coordinated assault involving drones and missiles. Several residential high-rise buildings suffered direct hits, with firefighters working to extinguish blazes that engulfed multiple floors.
