Teen Gunman Kills Nine in Turkey’s Second School Shooting in Two Days
A deadly shooting at a Turkish middle school has left nine people dead and 13 wounded after a 14-year-old boy allegedly opened fire with weapons belonging to his father, a former police officer. Turkey’s Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci confirmed that eight students and one teacher were among the dead. Ciftci emphasized to reporters that authorities consider this a “sole incident” and not terrorism-related.
The shooting comes just one day after a separate incident at a high school in eastern Turkey, where a student injured 16 people before taking his own life.
