Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman has announced she is expecting her third child at the age of 44, marking a new chapter in her personal life following her recent divorce.

In an exclusive interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Portman expressed her gratitude about the pregnancy with partner Tanguy Destable, a 45-year-old French electronic music producer professionally known as Tepr.

“Tanguy and I are very excited,” Portman told the publication. “I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle.”

Keleigh Morgan, Portman’s publicist, has confirmed the pregnancy but declined to provide additional details about the due date or other specifics.

The news comes during a period of significant personal transition for the “Black Swan” star. Portman finalized her divorce earlier this year from choreographer Benjamin Millepied, whom she met on the set of “Black Swan” in 2009. The former couple share two children: 14-year-old son Aleph and 9-year-old daughter Amalia.

Portman’s relationship with Destable became public in the months following her separation from Millepied. The French musician has collaborated with various artists and is known for his electronic compositions and remixes under his Tepr moniker.

In the interview, Portman offered a thoughtful perspective on pregnancy, informed by her unique upbringing. As the daughter of a fertility doctor, she has a deep appreciation for the challenges many face when trying to conceive.

“I grew up hearing about how hard it is to get pregnant,” she explained to Harper’s Bazaar. “I have so many people I love who’ve had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that as well. It’s such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it’s also not an easy thing.”

Portman’s pregnancy at 44 adds her to the growing list of celebrities embracing motherhood in their 40s, reflecting broader societal trends of delayed parenthood, particularly among professional women. Advanced maternal age pregnancies have become increasingly common as medical advancements continue to expand reproductive options.

Despite being in her second trimester, Portman noted that she’s feeling remarkably well. “I have more energy than I thought I might,” she shared, suggesting she’s navigating this pregnancy with the same grace and determination that has defined her three-decade career in Hollywood.

The announcement comes amid a busy professional period for the actress, who has been balancing her personal life with a flourishing career since her breakthrough role in “Léon: The Professional” at age 13. She recently appeared in the romantic comedy “May December” alongside Julianne Moore and has maintained a steady presence in both independent films and major studio productions.

Portman shows no signs of slowing down her professional commitments. Her upcoming projects include “The Gallerist,” directed by Cathy Yan, which explores an unusual art world story, and a Netflix production titled “Good Sex,” directed by “Girls” creator Lena Dunham.

Throughout her career, Portman has been selective about her roles while also establishing herself as a producer, director, and advocate for various social causes. She has been particularly vocal about women’s rights and gender equality in the film industry, topics that may take on additional resonance as she prepares to welcome another child into her life.

As Portman enters this new chapter of motherhood, her fans and the entertainment industry will undoubtedly be watching with interest as she continues to balance her expanding family with her enduring career in Hollywood.
