In a sharp rebuttal to ongoing allegations, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board member and BJP leader G. Bhanuprakash Reddy has accused the YSR Congress Party of deliberately misrepresenting an isolated theft attempt at the revered Tirumala temple to create unwarranted concern among devotees.
During a press conference in Tirupati on Wednesday, Reddy clarified that the incident being highlighted by opposition leaders actually occurred approximately 11 months ago and involved a significantly smaller theft attempt than what is being portrayed in recent political rhetoric.
“What the YSRC is presenting as a major gold heist worth crores of rupees was actually an isolated incident from January last year, where an outsourcing employee attempted to steal a single gold biscuit weighing about 100 grams,” Reddy explained.

TTD vigilance and security personnel detected the theft attempt immediately and apprehended the employee on the spot. The accused was promptly handed over to local police authorities and subsequently placed in judicial custody.
