Turkish Agency Warns of Disinformation Campaign Targeting Turkey-Azerbaijan Alliance

Turkey’s Center for Countering Disinformation has issued a stern warning about what it describes as coordinated online attacks designed to undermine the strategic partnership between Turkey and Azerbaijan. In a statement released Saturday on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal, the center highlighted attempts to drive a wedge between the two Turkic nations through provocative content and false claims.

“Closely bound by unshakable historical ties and shared values, Türkiye and Azerbaijan have not only today but also in the past successfully overcome many challenges they faced,” the statement read, emphasizing that the relationship between the two countries is built on foundations far stronger than temporary disinformation efforts.

The center noted that bilateral relations continue to thrive under the direct leadership of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who personally oversee cooperation across multiple sectors. Their partnership is guided by the longstanding motto “One Nation, Two States,” reflecting the deep cultural, linguistic, and historical bonds uniting the two peoples.

This high-level commitment ensures that strategic coordination between Ankara and Baku extends throughout diplomatic, military, and economic domains. The personal investment of both presidents in maintaining close ties provides significant resilience against external attempts to create division.

“We urge the public to remain cautious against exaggerated rhetoric, disinformation and black propaganda activities that could harm the brotherly ties between the two countries,” the center warned.
