President Trump paid tribute to White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles on Thursday evening as she received the Independent Women’s Forum’s prestigious Woman of Valor Award, celebrating her historic role as the first female chief of staff in U.S. history.

In a surprise video message shared exclusively with Fox News Digital, Trump praised Wiles as “one of the best White House chiefs of staff ever in history,” adding, “I’m tremendously grateful for her friendship, loyalty, and support every single day. She’s a real professional.”

The award, established to honor the legacy of Independent Women’s Forum founder Barbara K. Olson who died in the September 11 attack on the Pentagon, recognizes women who demonstrate commitment and courage in advancing economic liberty, personal responsibility, and political freedom.

Wiles, who has maintained a low public profile despite her significant influence in Republican politics, expressed gratitude for the recognition. “I am deeply honored to receive the Barbara K. Olson Woman of Valor Award. Her strength, courage, and deep love of our country are inspiring to so many,” Wiles said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“I have the privilege of serving President Trump, our administration and my dedicated colleagues who fight every day to protect liberty, expand opportunity, and strengthen the lives of American families,” she added.

Trump’s tribute also highlighted Wiles’ personal battle with cancer. In March, Wiles announced she had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer but received a promising prognosis following early detection. “It’s been especially inspiring to see her courage and toughness in recent weeks as she’s been winning a battle with cancer, winning it decisively,” Trump noted in his message.

Wiles has been a critical figure in Trump’s political career, playing key roles in his presidential campaigns. The president specifically credited her leadership in his 2024 victory, which he described as “perhaps the most consequential election victory in modern times.”

Often referred to by Trump as the “Ice Maiden” for her hard-nosed approach to politics, Wiles serves as Trump’s behind-the-scenes enforcer within the White House, deliberately avoiding the public spotlight while wielding significant influence over administration operations.

Carrie Lukas, president of the Independent Women’s Forum, praised Wiles as a “powerhouse of getting work done” who makes minimal fuss about her significant achievements. “Wiles was instrumental in securing President Trump’s victory and continues to keep the administration laser-focused on delivering results. Her impact is enormous—even if she rarely seeks the credit—and that’s exactly why it’s so meaningful to honor her,” Lukas said.

The event drew substantial support from Trump administration officials, with several Cabinet members in attendance, including Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Attorney General Todd Blanche, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Energy Secretary Chris Wright, and FBI Director Kash Patel.

Wiles joins an illustrious group of previous award recipients, becoming the 19th honoree. Past recipients include prominent conservative women such as Miranda Devine, Kimberley Strassel, Janice Dean, Maria Bartiromo, Betsy DeVos, Nikki Haley, Kellyanne Conway, Carly Fiorina, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, and Condoleezza Rice.

The Independent Women’s Forum, established in 1992 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, positions itself as an alternative to mainstream feminist groups, advocating for free-market solutions and conservative principles in policy discussions affecting women and families.

Through her work as White House chief of staff and her continued public service while battling health challenges, Wiles exemplifies the courage and commitment the award seeks to recognize, reinforcing her standing as one of the most influential women in contemporary American politics.
