Former reality television star Spencer Pratt, who recently finished third in Los Angeles’s mayoral primary election, has released a combative social media video claiming he possesses damaging recordings that could force one of the two remaining candidates to resign if elected. The announcement marks what Pratt calls “Phase III” of his campaign to expose what he characterizes as corruption in Los Angeles city government.

Pratt’s unexpected political rise came to an abrupt halt earlier this month when initial election night results showing him advancing to the November runoff were reversed by a surge of mail-in ballots counted over the following week. Despite his elimination from the race, Pratt insists his political activism is far from over.

“You think you can get rid of me that easily?” Pratt posted on Instagram following his third-place finish. “I know a lot of dimwit jerks thought I was in this for a grift, that I was gonna roll up and leave town if I didn’t get into City Hall. Hey morons, I didn’t get in this for political power. I got in to expose this corrupt machine, and nothing has changed.”

The November general election will feature a runoff between incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and progressive City Councilwoman Nithya Raman. Pratt has been sharply critical of both candidates throughout his campaign, and his latest video escalates that rhetoric considerably. Now that he is no longer a candidate himself, Pratt says he no longer needs to worry about offending voters or having his campaign constrain his messaging.

“It’s war,” Pratt declared in the video. “It’s zero hour for Los Angeles. Angelenos are now stuck with two morons responsible for all their problems and they have to choose between dumb and dumber. That’s not a choice. That’s the machine protecting the machine.”

The most striking claim in Pratt’s video involves an unspecified recording he says he has been holding in reserve. According to Pratt, the recording captures one of the two remaining candidates engaging in behavior so problematic it would force her to resign in disgrace. However, he stated he is waiting until after Los Angeles voters make their final choice in November before releasing the material.

“We have some recordings of one of your exalted candidates doing insane something that would make her resign in shame,” Pratt said, though he did not specify which candidate the recording allegedly involves. “I was saving it for the general election. Go ahead and pick your demon, certify your choice, and then you get to see it.”

Pratt directly addressed both Bass and Raman in his message, asking them to consider whether any of their employees might possess recordings of them “doing or saying something that would force you to resign in disgrace.” He sarcastically wished both candidates would “sleep well at night” over the next five months.

The former MTV personality has positioned himself as an outsider fighting against what he views as a corrupt political establishment. His campaign gained unexpected traction following the devastating wildfires that struck Los Angeles earlier this year, with Pratt repeatedly criticizing Bass’s handling of the disaster. His own mother lost her home in those fires, lending personal weight to his attacks on the mayor’s emergency response.

Beyond the wildfires, Pratt has focused heavily on the city’s ongoing struggles with homelessness and crime, issues that have dominated local political discourse for years. In his latest video, he painted a dire picture of Los Angeles’s future regardless of which candidate prevails in November.

“You have no idea how many major developers, hoteliers, business owners, entrepreneurs have been texting me saying they’re packing up and leaving town,” Pratt claimed. “More of your favorite restaurants will be shuttering. That means less tax revenue. That means the city has to cut services. More potholes, less firefighters, less police patrols, more criminals, more drug addicts terrorizing your communities. You have no idea how bad things are about to get for this city.”

The video, which accumulated over 20,000 likes within 45 minutes of posting, concludes with a clip from the television show Ozark featuring a character declaring that anyone who wants to stop him will have to kill him.

Fox News Digital reached out to both the Bass and Raman campaigns for comment on Pratt’s allegations and claims, but neither campaign had responded at the time of publication. The nature and authenticity of the recordings Pratt claims to possess remain unverified, and it is unclear whether he will follow through on his threat to release them after the November election.

Pratt’s transition from reality television villain to political firebrand represents one of the more unusual political stories to emerge from Los Angeles in recent years. While his third-place finish ended his immediate aspirations for elected office, his promise to continue agitating against city leadership suggests he plans to remain a fixture in Los Angeles political discourse for the foreseeable future.
