In a dramatic shift within Republican circles, outgoing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has leveled sharp criticism at President Donald Trump in recent comments to the New York Times Magazine, suggesting the president “does not have any faith” and fails to reciprocate loyalty from supporters.

Greene, once among Trump’s most vocal allies in Congress before their highly publicized falling out this year, made several pointed remarks that signal a deepening rift between the controversial Georgia representative and the president she previously championed.

The congresswoman specifically referenced Trump’s comments at the memorial service for conservative activist Charlie Kirk, where the president said, “He did not hate his opponents. He wanted the best for them. That’s where I disagreed with Charlie. I hate my opponent. And I don’t want the best for them.” Greene contrasted this with Kirk’s widow Erika, who forgave her husband’s suspected killer, noting the difference revealed Trump’s lack of faith compared to “her having a sincere Christian faith.”

In another surprising criticism, Greene took aim at what she described as the “MAGA Mar-a-Lago sexualization” among women in Trump’s orbit. “I believe how women in leadership present themselves sends a message to younger women,” she stated, adding that she’s “always been uncomfortable with how those women puff up their lips and enlarge their breasts.” The congresswoman, who has two daughters, indicated she had been planning to address this concern publicly.

Perhaps most damaging was Greene’s assessment of Trump’s approach to loyalty, which she characterized as “a one-way street — and it ends like that whenever it suits him.” This comment follows the recent breakdown in their relationship, which culminated last month when Trump posted criticisms of Greene on his Truth Social platform, prompting her announcement that she would resign from Congress effective January 5.

Greene also made a startling prediction about America’s future under Trump’s continued leadership, suggesting increased military conflict is imminent. “In my opinion, we’re going to see more war. Because what do you do when you really lose power, when you become a lame duck? How do you cling to power? You go to war,” she stated.

The Georgia representative further claimed that House Speaker Mike Johnson has essentially surrendered congressional independence to the White House. “Johnson is not our speaker. He is not our leader. And in the legislative branch — a totally separate body of government — he is literally 100 percent under direct orders from the White House,” Greene asserted, adding that many Republicans are “furious” but too “cowardly” to speak out.

The White House quickly responded to Greene’s accusations, particularly regarding Johnson’s relationship with the administration. A spokesperson told Fox News Digital, “We have a very collaborative relationship with Speaker Johnson just like we do with Leader Thune, which is why we’ve had so much success this year.”

White House spokesperson Davis Ingle directly addressed Greene’s broader criticisms, dismissing them as “petty bitterness” while highlighting her decision to leave office mid-term. “President Trump remains the undisputed leader of the greatest and fastest growing political movement in American history — the MAGA movement. On the other hand, Congresswoman Greene is quitting on her constituents in the middle of her term and abandoning the consequential fight we’re in — we don’t have time for her petty bitterness,” Ingle stated.

Greene’s remarks represent one of the most significant breaks from Trump by a formerly loyal supporter and signal potential fractures within the MAGA movement as the administration faces increasing scrutiny from both traditional Republicans and former allies. The timing of these comments, as Greene prepares to exit Congress, raises questions about potential shifts in Republican Party dynamics and Trump’s ability to maintain unity among his base during his second term.
