In a poignant posthumous release, Charlie Kirk’s final book urges readers to embrace the Sabbath as a transformative practice in an increasingly frenetic world. Completed just weeks before his assassination in September, “Stop, In the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life” represents Kirk’s deeply personal call for spiritual renewal in modern society.

Kirk, the founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, was killed at age 31 while speaking at Utah Valley University. Authorities believe a single shot was fired from approximately 200 yards away, abruptly ending the life of one of America’s most prominent conservative voices and leaving behind his wife, Erika, and their two young children.

“I knew Charlie so deeply, in a way no one else could,” writes Erika Kirk in the book’s foreword. “That is why I can say with certainty: these pages are not theory for him, they are testimony.” After his death, Erika, who now serves as CEO and board chair of Turning Point USA, was determined to complete the publication of her husband’s final work.

The book represents what Winning Team Publishing describes as Kirk’s “manifesto against the machine of modern life.” In it, Kirk argues that the Sabbath is not merely a religious tradition but “essential to the flourishing of the human soul” and addresses what he saw as a critical need in contemporary society.

“As America has abandoned the Sabbath, we have watched nearly every major marker of health—emotional, spiritual, communal—begin to fail,” Kirk wrote. “We are more productive and less peaceful, more connected digitally and more isolated relationally. We are over-stimulated, undernourished, distracted, discontent, and desperately lonely.”

Rather than positioning the book as merely for the religiously devout, Kirk intended it for “the exhausted parent, the anxious student, the burned-out executive, the soul-numbed scroller.” He presents the Sabbath not as a burdensome obligation but as “a life-giving rhythm that reorders your time, renews your mind, and restores your humanity.”

In the book’s introduction, Kirk reveals his personal journey toward rediscovering the Sabbath. He describes how in the summer of 2021, despite outward success and happiness following his marriage to Erika, he felt “fatigued, tired, and spiritually confused.” This internal struggle led him to explore the practice of unplugging, recharging, and reconnecting with God through observing a day of rest.

The assassination of Kirk, who had dedicated years to promoting civil discourse on college campuses and mentoring young adults nationwide, sent shockwaves across the country. His death mobilized thousands of young supporters at universities throughout the United States, demonstrating the significant impact he had made during his brief life.

“There is no doubt in my heart that Charlie left this world doing what he loved most: standing firm for truth, for faith, for family, and for America,” Erika Kirk writes. “The mark he made will not fade; it is etched in countless lives and stories.”

The book will be available nationwide starting Tuesday through major retailers including Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Amazon, Walmart, and directly from the publisher. Erika Kirk is scheduled to appear on several Fox News programs during the release week, including “Hannity,” “Fox & Friends,” “Outnumbered,” and “The Five.”

As she noted in her foreword, “My prayer is that you (and one day my two precious children) will not only read these pages but weave them into the fabric of your life. That you will let one of Charlie’s final messages quiet your hurried steps and lead you nearer to God.”
