In a significant development in the ongoing investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes, Democrats from the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform revealed Wednesday that they have obtained previously unseen photos and videos from Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“See for yourself. We won’t stop fighting until we end this cover-up and deliver justice for the survivors,” the Oversight Democrats announced on social media platform X, describing the materials as “a harrowing look behind Epstein’s closed doors.”

The committee explained that these materials were provided in response to their request to the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Justice as part of their ongoing investigation into Epstein’s criminal activities. The committee also received records from financial institutions J.P. Morgan and Deutsche Bank, both of which had business relationships with the disgraced financier.

According to the committee, these newly obtained files will be released to the public after a thorough review process in the coming days.

The release comes after President Donald Trump signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act in November, legislation directing the Justice Department to release unclassified records related to Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell. The act specifically calls for the release of investigative materials, files regarding individuals connected to Epstein’s previous legal cases, details of trafficking allegations, internal DOJ communications, and information surrounding the investigation into his death.

The legislation does include provisions allowing the DOJ to withhold or redact certain sensitive materials, including victims’ names, child sexual abuse materials, classified information, or evidence that could compromise ongoing investigations.

House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Ranking Member Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) emphasized the importance of transparency in a statement released alongside the images: “These new images are a disturbing look into the world of Jeffrey Epstein and his island. We are releasing these photos and videos to ensure public transparency in our investigation and to help piece together the full picture of Epstein’s horrific crimes.”

Garcia also called on the Trump administration to expedite the release of all remaining files related to the case, adding, “We won’t stop fighting until we deliver justice for the survivors. It’s time for President Trump to release all the files, now.”

The images released by the committee show various locations on Epstein’s private island, including interior rooms of buildings, a bathtub, and signage warning against trespassing. While the committee has not described the full extent of what the images reveal, they characterized them as disturbing and indicative of Epstein’s secretive world.

According to the committee’s statement, their formal request to the U.S. Virgin Islands Attorney General was sent on November 18, 2025, specifically seeking “documents, communications, and information pertaining to investigations or potential criminal investigations of Jeffrey Epstein or Ghislaine Maxwell.”

The Virgin Islands played a significant role in Epstein’s activities, as his private island, Little St. James, was located within its jurisdiction. The territory previously reached a settlement with Epstein’s estate following its own investigation into his criminal enterprise.

Epstein, who died in federal custody in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, has remained a focus of ongoing investigations as authorities continue to unravel his network of associates and enablers. His former associate Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted in 2021 on charges related to sex trafficking and is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence.

The committee’s investigation represents one of several ongoing efforts to bring full transparency to Epstein’s crimes and hold accountable anyone who may have been involved in or facilitated his criminal activities.
