Epstein’s Accountant Testifies No Payments Made to Trump, Committee Chair Says

Jeffrey Epstein’s longtime accountant testified under oath that he never witnessed any financial transactions between the late financier and President Donald Trump, according to House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.).

Richard Kahn, who serves as one of the executors of Epstein’s estate, provided the testimony during a closed-door deposition as part of the committee’s ongoing investigation into how federal authorities handled Epstein’s case.

“Mr. Kahn testified under oath that — because the Democrats asked this question — that he had never seen any type of transaction to Trump or anyone in his family,” Comer told reporters following the deposition. “That makes the fifth witness now that’s testified under oath that they’ve never seen any involvement by Donald Trump or the family.”

Kahn did confirm financial relationships between Epstein and several high-profile individuals, according to Comer. These included former Victoria’s Secret CEO Les Wexner, hedge fund manager Glenn Dubin, businessman Steven Sinofsky, members of the Rothschild family, and investor Leon Black. Epstein reportedly provided financial advisory services to each of these individuals.

“What Kahn said is he was under the impression that Epstein made his money as a tax advisor and a financial planner. So, these were the five people that transferred significant sums of money to Epstein,” Comer explained.

However, Democratic members of the committee offered a slightly different interpretation of Kahn’s testimony. Representative Suhas Subramanyam (D-Va.) told reporters that Kahn had mentioned “a person who was an accuser of Donald Trump was given a settlement by Jeffrey Epstein’s estate.” The statement did not necessarily establish a direct connection between the settlement and Trump.

A source familiar with the deposition later clarified to Fox News Digital that there had been confusion during questioning about the identity of an individual referred to as “Jane Doe 4.” According to the source, Kahn’s attorneys subsequently went back on record to clarify that the person Democrats believed to be Jane Doe 4 was not someone they had ever heard of.

Subramanyam also claimed Kahn testified that “there was another head of state that was mentioned as having financial transactions with Jeffrey Epstein,” though he did not elaborate on who that might be.

Trump and Epstein were known to have been friends until they reportedly had a falling out prior to Epstein’s first federal investigation. The president has not been implicated in any wrongdoing related to Epstein’s criminal activities.

Kahn’s testimony is the latest development in the committee’s extensive investigation into Epstein, who died in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. The investigation has included depositions from multiple witnesses with connections to Epstein, including his former girlfriend and associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted in 2021 for her role in facilitating Epstein’s abuse of minors.

The Epstein case continues to attract significant political attention, with both Republican and Democratic lawmakers seeking to uncover the full extent of his network and whether powerful figures received preferential treatment from law enforcement. The investigation has raised questions about Epstein’s vast wealth, his relationships with prominent individuals across business and politics, and how he managed to avoid serious consequences for his crimes for decades.

The House Oversight Committee is expected to continue its investigation with additional witness testimony in the coming months as it seeks to provide a comprehensive accounting of Epstein’s activities and the response by federal authorities.

The fact that the accountant confirmed financial relationships between Epstein and other high-profile individuals is notable. It will be important to see what further details emerge from the ongoing investigation.

The lack of evidence for transactions between Epstein and Trump is an interesting development. It will be important to see if this holds up as more witnesses are deposed in the investigation.

While the lack of evidence for Trump-Epstein transactions is interesting, I’m more concerned about the broader implications of Epstein’s activities and the systemic issues they may reveal. The investigation should seek to uncover the truth, not score political points.
