YouTube Personality Apologizes for Falsely Accusing Man During “Predator Catching” Livestream

Controversial YouTube streamer Vitaly Zdorovetskiy has issued a public apology after falsely accusing an innocent man of being a child predator during a recent livestream. The incident, which occurred during Zdorovetskiy’s “Catching Child Predators” show, quickly went viral on social media platforms, causing significant reputational damage to the wrongfully accused individual.

During the broadcast that gained widespread attention on X (formerly Twitter) on April 13, Zdorovetskiy and his team confronted Akash Singhania, publicly accusing him of attempting to meet with a minor. The heated confrontation was captured on camera, showing Zdorovetskiy shouting inflammatory accusations at Singhania.

“You want to rape a 16-year-old?” Zdorovetskiy was heard yelling during the livestream, while also referencing a Bluetooth speaker allegedly used in the setup. The confrontation quickly escalated, garnering thousands of views as it spread across social media.

Singhania immediately denied the allegations and attempted to defend himself on camera. He showed his phone to Zdorovetskiy’s crew and pleaded with them to examine his text messages, insisting that the person he was communicating with had identified themselves as 18 years old. He repeatedly told the accusers, “I swear to god, I don’t move like that,” explaining that the conversation involved discussion of consensual adult activities.

The situation became serious enough that Singhania contacted local authorities to establish his innocence. Following an investigation, the Santa Ana Police Department determined that Singhania had committed no crime and was not a threat, completely clearing him of Zdorovetskiy’s accusations.

After the police clearance, Zdorovetskiy deleted the original video and issued an official apology on X. “It has come to my attention that on a recent episode of Catching Child Predators, my team and I mistakenly portrayed Akash Singhania as a child predator,” Zdorovetskiy wrote. “This was a mistake that I deeply regret. He never intended to meet a minor and has been cleared of all wrongdoing. I apologize to Mr. Singhania, his family, his friends, and anyone else affected by this mistake.”

The streamer also urged his followers to stop contacting Singhania. While defending the overall purpose of his show, Zdorovetskiy acknowledged that he cannot “lose sight of the truth” in his efforts.

For Singhania, however, the apology comes after substantial damage has already been done. In his own statement, he expressed gratitude to Officers Renald Galstian, Lorenzo Sanchez, and Joanna Hatziefstratiou for their assistance in clearing his name, but emphasized that the false accusations have had a “significant” impact on his life, resulting in non-stop harassment and damage to both his personal and professional reputation.

The incident represents a growing concern about the dangers of public accusations made during livestreamed “vigilante justice” content, which has become increasingly popular on social media platforms. Critics argue that such formats lack proper vetting procedures and due process, potentially ruining innocent lives when mistakes occur.

This controversy comes at a particularly challenging time for Zdorovetskiy, who had been attempting to rebuild his career and public image following his release from a 290-day prison sentence in the Philippines in January 2026. The streamer, known for his provocative content and public stunts, has a history of legal troubles, making this latest incident potentially more damaging to his already controversial reputation.

As the story continues to develop, questions remain about potential legal repercussions Zdorovetskiy might face for the false accusations, as well as what measures content platforms might take regarding similar “predator catching” content that bypasses proper legal channels.
