U.S. Olympic Athletes Showcase Ralph Lauren Designs for Milan Cortina Winter Games

Freestyle skier Jaelin Kauf could barely contain her excitement as she tried on her Team USA uniform for the upcoming Milan Cortina Winter Games. The Olympic silver medalist bounced with enthusiasm while modeling her closing ceremony outfit at a Milan airport hotel, where she and her teammates received their official Ralph Lauren attire.

“This is such a fun, special experience to be a part of,” said Kauf, a three-time Olympian. “It is making the Olympics real. We are in Italy, we are kicking it off getting the outfits, and they are looking so good. It is exciting to be stepping into it and feel the excitement building up to the Games.”

Kauf’s closing ceremony ensemble featured a knit turtleneck bearing the U.S. flag, french-tucked into belted canvas twill trousers, which were then tucked into striped socks and completed with hiking boots. The styling exemplifies the classic American outdoor aesthetic that Ralph Lauren has perfected over its six-Winter Games partnership with Team USA.

Together with moguls teammates Olivia Giaccio, Tess Johnson, and Elizabeth Lemley, Kauf tried on various pieces from the collection, including a red-white-and-blue puffer jacket emblazoned with “2026” and “USA” and a Nordic-style knit cap with playful tassels. The athletes took selfies in the showroom’s wall-sized mirror while stylists marked their trousers for hemming and offered personalized touches.

The airport hotel has become the welcome hub for most U.S. athletes arriving to compete in the Winter Games. Sponsors have prepared an array of items to ensure competitors are properly outfitted for every occasion, from ceremonies and medal podiums to press conferences and leisure time. A Starbucks stand offered caffeine boosts for those arriving after long journeys.

Athletes have been enthusiastically sharing their excitement on social media about the bounty of items they’ve received, including undergarments from SKIMS, innovative inflatable jackets from Nike for medal ceremonies, and Oakley sunglasses—all in addition to the extensive Ralph Lauren collection.

For the opening ceremony, Ralph Lauren has provided a winter white duffel coat, a Nordic-style knit turtleneck featuring the U.S. flag and Olympic rings, and soft, pleated wool trousers. Giaccio praised the softness of the fabric, describing the look as “very classy,” while Kauf admired the detailed branding on the duffel coat, noting “TEAM USA” written on the wooden buttons and inside the hood.

“Zero notes,” added Johnson, signaling her complete approval of the design.

This marks the sixth Winter Games collaboration between Ralph Lauren and Team USA. Beyond the ceremony looks, athletes receive 30 additional pieces of village wear for their daily activities throughout the Games.

“This is the best team outfit ever, full stop. I have been doing this since 2010, since Vancouver and by far this is the best,” said Peter Zeytoonjian, senior vice president of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic committee’s commercial arm.

“My favorite piece for village wear is what I’m wearing,” he added, sporting a red-white-and-blue cable-knit turtleneck. “And then for closing, I love the flag sweater. It screams red, white and blue and Team USA.”

The women’s moguls team enters these Games with considerable momentum, having recently achieved a historic feat with a sweep of the top four positions in dual moguls at a World Cup event last month. The team was en route to the freestyle 2026 Winter Games venue in Livigno, near the Swiss border, where dual moguls will make its Olympic debut.

“It just speaks volumes about this women’s team,” Kauf said of their recent success. “We are just such strong skiers, such strong competitors. We came here to win. I think this is going to be a really fun event for all of us.”

With their Ralph Lauren uniforms fitted and their confidence high, Team USA’s moguls squad appears ready to make their mark at the Winter Games, combining athletic excellence with quintessential American style on the global stage.
