Four people were injured Saturday when a fire broke out at a hotel in Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah area, coinciding with Iran’s launch of retaliatory missile strikes across the Middle East. The incident occurred as explosions were reported in several Gulf countries hosting U.S. military forces.

The Dubai Media Office confirmed the incident in a statement, noting that emergency response teams had contained the fire and secured the site. While authorities did not explicitly state what caused the fire, reports suggest it resulted from an Iranian missile that was partially intercepted by United Arab Emirates defense systems.

“The safety and wellbeing of residents and visitors remain the highest priority. Authorities continue to take all necessary measures to safeguard the public,” the Dubai Media Office stated. Several other Gulf states joined in condemning Iran’s military actions. Qatar’s Foreign Ministry declared it reserves its “full right” to defend itself after what it characterized as Iranian aggression targeting Qatari territory.

Saudi Arabia, which has historically had tense relations with Iran, warned through its Foreign Ministry of “grave consequences resulting from the continued violation of states’ sovereignty and the principles of international law.”

This coordinated condemnation from Gulf states represents a unified regional response to Iran’s military actions. The UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Qatar—sometimes divided on regional policy—appear aligned in their opposition to Iran’s missile attacks on their territories.
