The Fatal Shooting in Minneapolis: A Complex Web of Activism and Tragedy
A fatal shooting involving Border Patrol agents in Minneapolis has revealed an extensive network of far-left organizations coordinating anti-immigration enforcement activities across the country. The incident, which resulted in the death of 37-year-old Alex Pretti on Saturday, has sparked nationwide protests that appear to be part of a sophisticated, coordinated response system.
According to information obtained by investigators, anti-ICE “rapid responders” were actively tracking federal agents minutes before the shooting took place outside Glam Doll Donuts on Nicollet Avenue. The agents had been there to arrest an undocumented immigrant with a criminal record when they encountered Pretti and other protesters.
Digital records show that at least 26 entries were made into a database called “MN ICE Plates” in the hours surrounding the shooting. This database, which contains thousands of entries, is used to track vehicles suspected of belonging to immigration authorities.
“This level of engineered chaos is unique to Minneapolis. It is the direct consequence of far-left agitators, working with local authorities,” Vice President JD Vance commented on social media following the incident.
At approximately 9:50 a.m. ET on Saturday, encrypted Signal messages show a user identified as “Willow” sharing video of two agents outside Glam Doll Donuts. Just three minutes later, another user called for “backup needed” at the location. By 10:05 a.m., Pretti, who worked as an intensive care unit nurse at a Veterans Administration hospital, had been fatally shot by a CBP agent during a confrontation.
ICE Assistant Director Marcos Charles later stated that the violence was “not a coincidence,” while CBP Commander-at-Large Greg Bovino confirmed that Pretti had been “on the scene several minutes” before the shooting occurred.
Within minutes of the shooting, a coordinated network of socialist, communist, and Marxist-Leninist organizations began mobilizing protesters not just in Minneapolis but across major cities including New York and Los Angeles. These groups used sophisticated messaging systems with emoji codes designating specific roles in their rapid response teams.
One guide used by the activists details a system where different emojis represent specific roles: “🚗💨” for mobile patrol, “🏃🏻♀️” for foot patrol, “📟” for local messaging, and “🍽️” for license plate checking, among others.
Organizations involved in the response included BreakThrough News, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, and the People’s Forum – some reportedly funded by American-born billionaire Neville Roy Singham, a self-described Marxist-Leninist residing in Shanghai.
By Saturday evening, the narrative across these networks had coalesced around branding federal officials in inflammatory terms, with protest graphics and calls for a “general strike” circulating widely on social media.
“Alex Pretti was murdered in cold blood, everyone knows that,” wrote Gloria La Riva, a co-founder of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, on social media. “The people’s struggle will only grow!”
The database used to track suspected ICE vehicles contains 4,626 records categorized as “Highly Suspected ICE,” “Confirmed ICE,” “Suspected ICE,” “Cleared – Not ICE” and “Unknown.” The total number of “Confirmed ICE” entries stands at 2,933, with 455 records labeled “Abductors.”
As tensions continue to escalate in Minneapolis, where federal immigration enforcement operations have become increasingly contentious, the sophisticated organization behind these protests highlights the broader political dimensions of the immigration debate in America.
The incident follows a pattern similar to mobilizations after George Floyd’s death in May 2020, with well-established activist networks ready to rapidly deploy in response to incidents involving law enforcement.

Troubling to see the level of coordination between far-left groups and local authorities to disrupt immigration enforcement actions. This ‘engineered chaos’ seems like a dangerous recipe for tragedy. I hope investigators can get to the bottom of what happened and hold all parties accountable.
The use of real-time vehicle tracking databases to monitor federal agents is concerning. While protest is a fundamental right, this appears to cross a line into actively interfering with lawful operations. I wonder what the legal implications could be for the organizers involved.
Agreed, using tracking tools to undermine law enforcement is a very serious issue. I hope the authorities can assess whether any laws were broken and bring charges if warranted. Public safety has to come before any political agenda.
This appears to be a disturbing case of far-left groups exploiting local political sympathies to sow chaos and potentially endanger public safety. While the full facts are still emerging, the alleged coordination to undermine immigration enforcement is very troubling. I hope justice prevails.
This is a complex and tragic situation. While the loss of life is always regrettable, the degree of apparent coordination by far-left groups to disrupt federal agents is worrying. I hope investigators can determine exactly what happened and whether any criminal activities occurred.
The revelation of this ‘MN ICE Plates’ database is quite alarming. Tracking law enforcement vehicles in real-time to interfere with their duties seems like it could cross legal boundaries. I wonder what the motivations were behind creating and using such a tool.
Agreed, the use of this database is highly concerning. Activists have the right to protest, but not to actively obstruct legitimate law enforcement operations. I hope the authorities take this aspect of the investigation very seriously.
