In a powerful display during Sunday’s Super Bowl broadcast, survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking ring called on Attorney General Pam Bondi to release additional files related to the case, signaling growing frustration with the Department of Justice’s implementation of the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

The high-profile commercial, created by World Without Exploitation (a project of the progressive nonprofit Tides Center), featured several women holding photographs of their younger selves. “After years of being kept apart, we’re standing together,” one woman stated in the ad. “Because this girl deserves the truth.” The commercial concluded with the message, “Tell Attorney General Pam Bondi it’s time for the truth.”

The advertisement quickly gained political traction, with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer sharing it on social media platform X, calling it “the most important ad” of the Super Bowl. “You don’t ‘move on’ from the largest sex trafficking ring in the world. You expose it. #StandWithSurvivors,” Schumer wrote. Representative Robert Garcia (D-Calif.), who has spearheaded Democratic inquiries into the Epstein matter in the House, expressed similar support.

The timing of the commercial is significant, coming just weeks after the DOJ announced the completion of its review and the release of more than 3 million pages of Epstein case files. According to the Justice Department, they initially began with approximately 6 million pages but withheld a substantial portion for various reasons, including protection of alleged victims’ identities and legally privileged information.

This partial disclosure has prompted sharp criticism from key supporters of the Epstein legislation, including Epstein’s victims themselves and Representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), who argue that the DOJ has failed to comply with the transparency law’s requirements. Massie is among the lawmakers who planned to visit the Justice Department on Monday to review the undisclosed files.

The DOJ has firmly rejected accusations of selective transparency, maintaining that their review was “very comprehensive” and denying that information was withheld to protect President Donald Trump or other politically connected individuals who had previously associated with Epstein, such as former President Bill Clinton. Both former presidents had connections to Epstein but were never charged with crimes related to his trafficking operation.

The commercial highlighted a particular point of contention: inconsistent redactions throughout the released documents. Images of heavy redaction marks flashed across the screen during the ad, referencing widespread complaints that the DOJ heavily redacted certain files while neglecting to redact names in others. For their part, Justice Department officials have stated they are working quickly to correct any redaction errors brought to their attention.

The Epstein Files Transparency Act, signed into law in November 2025, was designed to bring closure to victims and accountability to those involved in Epstein’s extensive trafficking network. The convicted sex offender’s 2019 death in prison while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges sparked numerous conspiracy theories and left many questions unanswered about his powerful associates and the full extent of his crimes.

The Super Bowl ad reflects the ongoing tension between victims’ advocates pushing for complete transparency and the Justice Department’s stated need to balance disclosure with legal and privacy considerations. As pressure mounts from both sides of the political aisle, the Epstein case continues to test the limits of government transparency and the public’s right to information in high-profile criminal matters.

The Justice Department did not respond to requests for comment on the commercial.
