In a striking revelation during recent testimony, former President Bill Clinton informed House Oversight Committee members that he has no recollection of President Donald Trump making statements that would connect him to Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal activities.

The testimony came as part of the committee’s extensive investigation into Epstein, the disgraced financier who died in custody in 2019 while facing sex trafficking charges. Clinton, who faced persistent questioning from Democratic lawmakers about Trump’s connection to Epstein, took a notable pause during the deposition to clarify his position.

“I hate this because I don’t think I should inject anything, but I do not want to leave the impression… He, the president, never — this is 20-something years ago — never said anything to me to make me think he was involved with anything improper with regard to Epstein,” Clinton stated.

Later in the testimony, Clinton reiterated his stance, emphasizing, “As I said earlier, the only conversation I had with President Trump about this was in the early 2000s and I have no information that he did anything wrong.”

The House Oversight Committee’s investigation centers on whether Epstein leveraged his extensive network of powerful connections to facilitate illegal sexual encounters. Epstein’s social circle was notably populated with high-profile figures, including Clinton, Trump, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and Britain’s Prince Andrew, among others.

The testimony marks a significant moment in the congressional investigation, as lawmakers continue to examine the complex web of relationships surrounding Epstein. The committee has been particularly focused on understanding how Epstein’s connections to powerful individuals might have enabled or concealed his criminal behavior.

Clinton’s deposition comes amid heightened scrutiny following the release of documents by the Department of Justice under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which President Trump signed into law in November 2025. These materials have drawn considerable attention, with Democrats reportedly examining them closely for potential connections to Trump.

Throughout his testimony, Clinton maintained that his knowledge of Trump’s relationship with Epstein was limited. He expressed support for transparency in the investigation, stating, “I just want it all out there. I want everybody to get it all out there and let everybody see where we are.”

Among the released materials are photographs showing Clinton in potentially compromising situations. One image depicts him in a swimming pool with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate who was later convicted for her role in facilitating Epstein’s crimes. A third person in the photograph has been redacted from the public record.

When pressed further about communications with Trump regarding Epstein, Clinton confirmed that he had not spoken with the former president about Epstein since their conversation in the “early 2000s,” adding simply, “It’s the truth.”

The investigation into Epstein’s activities has exposed troubling connections across political, business, and social elites. Maxwell, who was pictured with Clinton in the pool photograph, was convicted in December 2021 for recruiting and grooming teenage girls for sexual encounters with Epstein between 1994 and 2004.

The committee’s work represents one of the most high-profile congressional investigations in recent years, with testimony from two former presidents potentially shedding light on one of the most disturbing criminal cases of the past decade. The investigation continues to examine how Epstein operated with apparent impunity for years despite numerous allegations against him.

As the committee moves forward with its investigation, public interest remains high in understanding the full scope of Epstein’s crimes and the extent to which his powerful connections may have enabled his behavior or shielded him from consequences.
