Former President Bill Clinton has denied any sexual misconduct related to recently released photos showing him with Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s accomplice, at a hotel in Brunei. During testimony before the House Oversight Committee, Clinton categorically rejected allegations of inappropriate behavior.

“No,” Clinton responded when directly asked if he had sexual relations with the unidentified female in a hot tub photo that has circulated widely since its release. The woman’s identity was redacted by the Department of Justice in accordance with legal requirements to protect Epstein’s victims while releasing related documents and images.

Clinton explained that his stay at the Brunei hotel came at the invitation of the Sultan, whom he had developed a relationship with during his presidency through the Asia-Pacific leaders conference that Clinton had established.

“It’s a tiny place but a very wealthy one, and the Sultan was a man I had gotten to know well in my eight years as president,” Clinton told lawmakers. He added that the Sultan had specifically encouraged him to use the pool facilities during his stay.

The kingdom of Brunei, located on an island near Indonesia, is known for its immense oil wealth despite its small geographical size. The Sultan of Brunei has long maintained relationships with various world leaders and is one of the world’s richest individuals.

While Clinton acknowledged that both Epstein and Maxwell had accompanied him on the trip to Brunei, he claimed he couldn’t recall who else was present. When questioned about why Epstein and Maxwell were part of his traveling party, Clinton did not provide a clear explanation.

The former president did affirm that to the best of his recollection, no minors were present at the pool, and he believed everyone there was part of their group. He also mentioned that Secret Service protection would have been present, as is standard for former presidents.

“I don’t think there was anyone else in that hot tub. I had forgotten there was anyone in the hot tub,” Clinton stated, adding, “I don’t think I ever knew the photo was taken.”

The images in question were released as part of the Department of Justice’s ongoing legal obligations to disclose Epstein-related materials. Epstein died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges involving minors. Maxwell was later convicted for her role in facilitating Epstein’s abuse and is currently serving a prison sentence.

Clinton’s testimony forms part of a broader congressional investigation into Epstein’s crimes and his connections with prominent figures. The probe has attracted significant attention due to Epstein’s well-documented relationships with powerful individuals across business, politics, and entertainment.

Despite appearing in several photographs with Epstein that have been released by the Justice Department, Clinton has consistently denied any knowledge of or participation in Epstein’s criminal activities. His wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, also recently testified before the committee, reportedly stating that she did not recall ever meeting Epstein.

The investigation continues to generate controversy, with some lawmakers accusing the committee of political motivations in its handling of the probe. Meanwhile, advocates for Epstein’s victims have pressed for full transparency regarding his connections to influential figures and how he was able to operate his trafficking network for years while maintaining relationships with the global elite.

The photos and Clinton’s testimony have reignited public interest in the Epstein case, which remains one of the most high-profile sex trafficking investigations in recent history, with implications that continue to reverberate through American political and social circles.
