Barron Trump’s Timely Intervention Saves Woman During Alleged Assault in London

A woman testified in a London court that Barron Trump, the 19-year-old son of President Donald Trump, unexpectedly saved her life during an alleged assault by her ex-boyfriend after she managed to call him during the attack.

According to testimony at Snaresbrook Crown Court, Trump answered a FaceTime call on January 18, 2025, witnessing what appeared to be an assault in progress. He immediately contacted UK emergency services, prompting police to respond to the scene shortly after 2 a.m. local time.

“I just saw a ceiling and could hear screaming. I could see a guy’s head on the phone, and then the camera turns to her crying and getting hit,” Trump told officials, according to bodycam footage presented in court.

The woman, whose identity is protected by law, claimed that her former partner, 22-year-old Matvei Rumianstev of east London, had become increasingly violent during their relationship. She testified that Rumianstev was jealous of her friendship with the president’s son.

In her court testimony, the woman expressed profound gratitude for Trump’s quick action. “He helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment,” she said.

Police recordings captured Trump’s urgency when reporting the incident. “I just got a call from a girl I know. She’s getting beaten up,” he reportedly told emergency operators, adding, “It’s really an emergency, please. I got a call from her with a guy beating her up.”

The call that potentially saved the woman’s life almost didn’t happen. Court records indicate that Trump had initially attempted to reach his friend for a casual conversation before receiving the unexpected callback that revealed the alleged assault. The critical call lasted only 10 to 15 seconds before Trump contacted authorities.

When officers arrived at the scene, bodycam footage captured the moment when police realized the identity of the person who had reported the incident. An officer was heard telling a colleague, “So apparently, this informant from America is likely to be Donald Trump’s son. This female is friends with Donald Trump’s son. She was on a Facetime with him when this assault happened, and he’s called us.”

The case has revealed disturbing allegations of ongoing abuse. The woman testified that Rumianstev had first become violent six months into their relationship and had a history of assaulting her, including strangulation. She further alleged that she was raped on January 18, the day she called Trump, and previously in November 2024.

Court proceedings also revealed claims that Rumianstev had been pressuring the woman to withdraw her complaints against him.

In a subsequent call confirming the police response, Trump told the woman, “I had someone call the police. I called you guys, that was the best thing I could do. I wasn’t going to call back and threaten things to him because that would just make the situation worse.”

Rumianstev, who resides in New Providence Wharf in east London, has denied all allegations. He faces serious charges including assault, actual bodily harm, two counts of rape, intentional strangulation, and perverting the course of justice.

The White House has not yet issued a statement regarding the incident. The trial remains ongoing at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
