In an exclusive report obtained by Fox News, newly revealed training materials show a far-left activist group is openly advocating for a “political revolution” in America, with plans that include targeted pressure campaigns on college campuses.
Slides from a March 2026 Sunrise Movement membership meeting, obtained by the education watchdog group Defending Education, detail the organization’s vision to “structurally change the foundations of this country” in pursuit of what they term “eco-socialism” and a “multi-racial democracy.”
The internal presentation outlines the group’s self-described “grand objective,” which includes passing Green New Deal legislation and dismantling what they characterize as the “billionaire 2 party system.”
The materials reveal a phased approach to political transformation spanning several years. Phase 1 goals include stopping “Trump’s grip on power,” building “mass noncooperation” through events like May Day protests, and using the 2026 midterm elections to achieve an “electoral breakthrough.”
Phase 2, scheduled for 2028, calls for “MASS strikes” and generating “huge historic 2028 turnout” for their preferred candidate. The plan continues with Phase 3 (2029-2031), explicitly labeled as “political revolution,” followed by Phase 4 (2032 and beyond), which they call “The New System,” humorously noting it will bring “Happiness (maybe).”
The Sunrise Movement’s strategy specifically targets corporations through various pressure tactics. One slide suggests “booking and cancelling reservations at Hilton Hotels” as part of a broader campaign, while another encourages college students to push their institutions to cut ties with companies labeled as “ICE enablers like Hilton” in an effort to “topple the corporate pillar.”
This approach directly links campus activism to national objectives by leveraging institutional relationships, such as university vendor contracts, to drive corporate boycotts and broader disruption.
The presentation also outlines three potential political scenarios the group believes could unfold in coming years: a “full dictatorship” where Trump allegedly “steals” future elections; a “seesaw democracy” where Democrats win but struggle to govern effectively; and their preferred outcome involving “mass noncooperation and huge electoral turnout” leading to sweeping economic and social reforms.
“While calls for a ‘political revolution’ by left-wing activist groups are not unique, these coordinated plans to put economic and social pressure on universities to achieve a socialist ‘democracy’ should raise serious concerns,” Rhyen Staley, director of research at Defending Education, told Fox News Digital. “Our academic institutions should be places of higher learning, discovery, and robust debate around ideas and policies, not weaponized or punished to achieve a ‘structural change’ to the political foundations of this country.”
Fox News Digital reached out to the Sunrise Movement for comment but did not receive a response.
The organization’s far-left connections have already drawn scrutiny from congressional leadership. In November, the House Judiciary Committee chairman expressed concern about the group’s alleged ties to Antifa, a movement the Trump administration previously designated as a terrorist organization.
The Sunrise Movement is among several activist groups calling for a nationwide strike on May 1, traditionally known as May Day, which has historically been embraced by communist and socialist movements as a day for mass political action.
At a recent “No Kings Rally” in St. Paul, Minnesota, Ezra Levin, co-founder of Indivisible, another protest organization, urged participants to prepare for economic disruption on May Day. “On May 1, on May Day, we are saying, ‘No business as usual.’ No work, no school, no shopping. We’re going to show up and say, ‘We’re putting workers over billionaires and kings,'” Levin told the crowd.
The plans outlined in the leaked materials represent an escalation in tactics from progressive activist groups, moving beyond traditional protest methods toward coordinated economic and institutional pressure campaigns. The targeting of universities as leverage points against corporations marks a strategic evolution in how these organizations are approaching their broader political objectives.
