Iran warns of wider war, claims US and Israel may stage false-flag operations

Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian issued a stark warning on Sunday that the ongoing conflict in the Middle East risks expanding into a regional war, while alleging that Israel and the United States might orchestrate “false-flag operations” to escalate tensions further.

Speaking at a press conference in Tehran, Amir-Abdollahian emphasized that Iran remains committed to diplomatic channels despite the deteriorating security situation. “We still believe diplomacy is the best and most effective way to resolve the crisis,” he said, adding that Tehran has been actively engaging with various international partners to de-escalate tensions.

The minister’s comments come amid heightened concerns about a potential broader confrontation following Israel’s military operations in Gaza and Lebanon. The conflict, which began with Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7 last year, has steadily intensified, drawing in multiple regional actors.
