Former Escape The Fate guitarist TJ Bell has broken his silence regarding his recent departure from the band, claiming he was removed following what he describes as “entirely false” public accusations.

In a lengthy statement shared on social media, Bell addressed the numerous inquiries from fans seeking clarity about his exit from the platinum-selling post-hardcore band. “I was recently removed from the band following public accusations that are entirely false,” Bell stated. “These claims were amplified online by a well-known public figure with whom I’ve had many public disagreements over the years.”

Although Bell did not specifically name this public figure in his statement, industry insiders and fans have widely interpreted this as a reference to Ronnie Radke, Escape The Fate’s former vocalist who now fronts Falling In Reverse. Radke reportedly accused Bell of having inappropriate relationships with a minor, allegations that Bell categorically denies.

“I want to be absolutely clear: in all of the stories being circulated about me, I do not know any of the people mentioned,” Bell emphasized in his statement. “Claims that I dated or had relationships with anyone referenced in these narratives are completely false. None of these stories are rooted in reality.”

The situation highlights the ongoing tensions within the metalcore scene, particularly between former bandmates. Radke was Escape The Fate’s original vocalist from 2004 until 2008, when legal troubles led to his departure. The band, formed in Las Vegas, has experienced numerous lineup changes throughout its nearly two-decade existence.

Bell, who joined Escape The Fate in 2013 after a stint with Motionless In White, expressed disappointment at what he perceives as a lack of support from his former bandmates during this controversy. “It is a reality of this industry that when a powerful voice creates a narrative, others often feel they must choose between what is right and what is safe for their own careers,” Bell stated. “While the band may offer other explanations for my departure, the timing of these events speaks for itself.”

This dispute comes at a time when Escape The Fate continues to maintain a significant presence in the post-hardcore and metalcore scenes. The band has been touring extensively to support their recent musical releases, with their blend of screamo, emo, and metal continuing to resonate with a dedicated fanbase.

In his statement, Bell indicated he is moving forward with other ventures outside of music. “I’ve been focusing on building my own business and creating something positive and lasting beyond music, something grounded in community and authenticity, which cannot be swayed by online narratives,” he noted.

The controversy underscores the increasing impact of social media on band dynamics and music industry careers. Public accusations, whether substantiated or not, can quickly gain traction online and have real-world consequences for those involved.

Escape The Fate has not yet issued an official statement regarding Bell’s departure or his claims. The band, currently fronted by Craig Mabbitt, continues to tour and record with their remaining members and any replacements they may have brought in following Bell’s exit.

Bell concluded his statement by thanking fans for their support and indicating he would not engage in further public debate on the matter: “Instagram is not a courtroom, and I will not be engaging in debates in the comments. This will be my first and only statement on the matter.”

The music industry can be a messy business with a lot of personal drama. I’m curious to hear more about the specifics of this case and how it plays out. Dismissals are always tricky, especially when there are competing claims.

    • Indeed. Hopefully the parties involved can resolve this matter privately and amicably, rather than airing it all out publicly. Fans deserve the truth, but reputations are also at stake.

  2. It’s concerning to hear about allegations of inappropriate relationships with minors. That’s an extremely serious charge that needs to be investigated thoroughly. I hope the facts come to light, regardless of who is right or wrong.

You’re right, that’s a very serious allegation. It’s important that the truth is determined through proper channels, not just public accusations. The wellbeing of any minors involved should be the top priority.

  3. This is a concerning situation. I hope the truth comes out and justice is served, regardless of who is right. False accusations can ruin lives, but so can improper conduct. We should reserve judgment until all the facts are clear.

Agreed. It’s important to let the proper authorities investigate the matter thoroughly before drawing conclusions. Allegations alone should not be treated as facts.
