In a significant development, the Department of Justice released thousands of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein on Tuesday, including a controversial claim alleging that President Donald Trump sexually assaulted a woman in connection with the late sex offender.
The allegation appears in an FBI report filed on October 27, 2020, just days before the presidential election. According to the document, a man contacted the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center regarding a Christmas 1999 conversation he had with an unnamed woman. The informant claimed that while driving Trump in a limousine in 1995, the then-businessman repeatedly mentioned someone named “Jeffrey” and made references to “abusing some girl.”
Upon hearing this account, the woman allegedly became visibly distressed and eventually disclosed that Trump “raped me” alongside Jeffrey Epstein. When urged to report the incident to authorities, she reportedly expressed fear for her safety, stating: “I can’t they will kill me.”
This claim represents just one of several documents in the release that connect Trump to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. The materials range from media reports to documents focusing directly on Trump’s relationships with the pair.
The Department of Justice, however, has cast doubt on the credibility of these allegations. In an accompanying statement, the DOJ noted: “Some of these documents contain untrue and sensationalist claims made against President Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election. To be clear: the claims are unfounded and false, and if they had a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponized against President Trump already.”
The DOJ explained that its “commitment to the law and transparency” necessitated the release of these materials, which include “legally required protections” for Epstein’s victims.
Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing related to his associations with Epstein and has stated that the two had a falling out years before Epstein faced sex trafficking charges in 2019.
Among the approximately 30,000 pages of newly released materials, the Justice Department specifically flagged a purported 2019 letter from Epstein to convicted sex offender Larry Nassar as fraudulent. The fabricated letter contained inflammatory claims about Trump’s alleged preferences for “young, nubile girls” and was supposedly written three days after Epstein’s suicide in federal custody.
The DOJ explained that FBI analysis determined the letter was fake based on handwriting inconsistencies, postal irregularities, and the absence of required prison mail identifiers.
“This fake letter serves as a reminder that just because a document is released by the Department of Justice does not make the allegations or claims within the document factual,” the DOJ stated, while affirming its commitment to releasing “all material required by law.”
Other documents in the release raise additional questions about Trump’s connections to Epstein. A January 2020 email from a Manhattan assistant U.S. attorney claimed that flight logs showed Trump flew on Epstein’s private plane “many more times than previously has been reported,” citing “at least eight flights between 1993 and 1996, including at least four flights on which Maxwell was also present.” These flight logs were initially revealed during the first phase of Epstein file releases in February.
The documents also revealed that Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, was subpoenaed in 2021 for employment records relating to Ghislaine Maxwell. Another document mentioned a tip about a “party for prostitutes” allegedly held at the property.
The files contain other high-profile connections, including a 2001 email to Maxwell from an address linked to Prince Andrew, who was stripped of his royal titles earlier this year. The email, signed “A xxx,” asked Maxwell if she had found “some new inappropriate friends” for them to meet in Los Angeles.
Prince Andrew has consistently denied witnessing or engaging in any impropriety with Epstein. Buckingham Palace and the prince’s legal representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
These revelations come as part of the Justice Department’s ongoing efforts to release Epstein-related materials following years of public interest and legal battles surrounding the case.
