Rising Tensions in Bigg Boss 19: Tanya Mittal’s Brother Refutes Relationship Claims
Controversy continues to swirl around Bigg Boss 19 contestant Tanya Mittal after her rakhi brother, Shagun Vashishth, came to her defense in an exclusive interview, addressing recent allegations made against her inside the reality show house.
Mittal, a motivational speaker who has attracted attention for her lavish lifestyle claims on the show, became the subject of criticism when wild card entrant Malti Chahar suggested Mittal’s actions were causing problems for her close associates outside the house.
In his conversation with Zoom/Telly Talk India, Vashishth strongly rejected Chahar’s allegations, particularly the claim that Mittal had kissed a photo of singer-composer Amaal Mallik during a task.
“Malti Chahar wants to demotivate Tanya. Her claims about Tanya kissing Amaal’s photo were very cheap. You can check the footage; she didn’t do it,” Vashishth asserted. He added that Chahar’s remarks appeared calculated to destabilize Mittal psychologically as part of her gameplay strategy.
Vashishth called for host Salman Khan to address the issue during the upcoming Weekend Ka Vaar episode, the show’s weekly elimination and confrontation segment where contestants’ behaviors are often scrutinized.
Perhaps most notably, Vashishth’s interview directly addressed speculation about Mittal’s relationship status, firmly stating: “Tanya is single. She had never been in a relationship before as well.” This declaration comes amid claims from Balraj Singh, who has publicly identified himself as Mittal’s former boyfriend—claims that Vashishth dismissed as fabricated.
While clarifying Mittal’s relationship with Amaal Mallik, Vashishth described them merely as “very good friends,” attempting to dispel any romantic rumors circulating among viewers and social media followers.
The interview adds another layer of complexity to Mittal’s Bigg Boss journey, which has already generated substantial viewer interest due to her controversial statements about her financial status. Earlier episodes featured Mittal making what some viewers considered exaggerated claims about her wealth, which became a talking point among both house contestants and the audience.
Bigg Boss, now in its 19th season, continues to be one of India’s most-watched reality television shows. The format, which confines contestants in an isolated house for several weeks under constant camera surveillance, regularly generates headlines for interpersonal conflicts and dramatic confrontations between participants.
Industry analysts note that such controversies typically boost the show’s ratings, with personal revelations and relationship disputes traditionally drawing heightened viewer engagement. The current season airs on Colors TV and is simultaneously available for streaming on JioCinema.
As the competition progresses toward its finale, expected in early 2024, tensions among contestants continue to escalate—with Mittal now firmly established as one of this season’s most talked-about personalities, both inside and outside the Bigg Boss house.
The show’s producers have not yet commented on Vashishth’s statements or indicated whether the claims regarding Mittal will be addressed in upcoming episodes.
