False Claims Linking Ellen DeGeneres to Stanley Kubrick in Epstein Files Debunked

Recent viral claims suggesting that newly released Epstein files contain evidence that Ellen DeGeneres and other Hollywood celebrities participated in a satanic ritual involving the late director Stanley Kubrick have been thoroughly debunked by fact-checkers. The fabricated story, which has spread widely across social media platforms, lacks any factual basis and represents the latest in a series of sensationalist falsehoods connected to the Epstein case.

The original claim appeared in a March 11 article published by The People’s Voice with the headline “Epstein Files: Ellen DeGeneres and Hundreds of Hollywood VIPs Ate Stanley Kubrick at Satanic Ritual.” Despite its shocking title, the article provided no evidence to support its extraordinary allegations.

An extensive search of the U.S. Department of Justice’s released Epstein files reveals no connection between DeGeneres and Kubrick, nor any mention of ritualistic activities as described in the viral article. The DOJ documents contain only 12 references to Kubrick, all appearing in news articles discussing his films. None make any mention of DeGeneres or ritualistic practices.

Similarly, searches for terms like “satanic ritual” within the Epstein files yield no results that would substantiate the article’s claims. If such explosive information actually existed in official government documents, it would have triggered widespread coverage from legitimate news organizations. No such reporting has emerged.

The website responsible for publishing the false story, The People’s Voice, has a well-documented history of spreading misinformation. Originally launched as YourNewsWire in 2014, the site has undergone multiple rebrands – first to NewsPunch in 2017, then to The People’s Voice in 2023 – likely in attempts to distance itself from its reputation for publishing fabricated content.

Media watchdogs have identified The People’s Voice as one of the internet’s most prolific sources of false information. The site employs several deceptive tactics to create an illusion of credibility, including linking to legitimate sources while making unsubstantiated claims in headlines and opening paragraphs that are unsupported by those very sources.

The site lost its Facebook verification status in 2018 following investigations by media accountability organizations. Fact-checkers consistently warn that content from this source should be approached with extreme skepticism.

This false story emerges amid ongoing public interest in documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, the financier who died in jail while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. The legitimate Epstein files contain sensitive information about his associates and activities, but nothing resembling the outlandish claims made about DeGeneres and Kubrick.

The spread of such baseless allegations highlights the persistent challenge of misinformation in the digital age, particularly surrounding high-profile cases. The Epstein investigation has repeatedly been the subject of conspiracy theories and fabricated stories that distract from the actual documented crimes.

Media literacy experts caution that sensational headlines making extraordinary claims without providing evidence should immediately raise red flags for readers. They recommend verifying information through multiple reputable sources before sharing content, particularly when claims involve public figures and criminal allegations.

As investigations into Epstein’s network continue, fact-checkers remain vigilant against the spread of false information that can undermine public understanding of the actual facts surrounding the case.

Interesting story, but this ‘Epstein files’ claim seems pretty far-fetched. I haven’t seen any credible evidence linking Ellen DeGeneres or Kubrick to anything like that. Sounds like classic conspiracy theory nonsense.
