Viral Kim Kardashian and Michael B. Jordan Exchange Debunked as Fabrication

Images purportedly showing an online interaction between Kim Kardashian and Oscar-winning actor Michael B. Jordan have spread across social media platforms, garnering millions of views this week. The alleged exchange, however, appears to be entirely fabricated.

The circulation of the fake screenshots followed Jordan’s Best Actor win at Sunday’s Academy Awards ceremony, where he was recognized for his dual role portraying twin brothers in the critically acclaimed film “Sinners.” The performance, which had already earned Jordan significant praise from critics, represented a career-defining achievement for the actor.

According to the viral screenshots, Kardashian allegedly commented on Jordan’s Oscar victory with the message: “He deserves it. And is he single? Asking for a friend.” The fabricated posts also include what appears to be a pointed response from Jordan: “I’m good. Every time a successful Black man is winning, somehow you try to insert yourself into the moment and shift the narrative. Not happening here. I worked too hard for this to turn into something else. Respectfully… keep me out of it.”

Investigation into the origin of these claims points to a parody account called HoopsCrave on X (formerly Twitter). The account, which joined the platform in November 2025, explicitly describes itself as “a parody account not affiliated with @PopCrave,” referencing the legitimate pop culture news outlet with a similar logo that has operated since 2015.

A March 17 post by X user @KenyaDione links to a now-deleted HoopsCrave post that contained the alleged Kardashian quote. Google’s cached data confirms the original post featured an image alongside text attributing the “is he single” comment to Kardashian. This post appears to be the genesis of the viral claim.

The HoopsCrave account has a documented history of sharing unverified and false celebrity claims. Its pinned post from March 8 featured a fabricated quote attributed to Kanye West that was quickly debunked by fact-checkers.

A thorough review of Kardashian’s social media accounts reveals no evidence that she ever made such comments about Jordan. Similarly, there is no credible evidence that Jordan posted the response attributed to him in the circulating screenshots. No legitimate news outlets or entertainment publications have reported on any such exchange.

The fabricated interaction plays into persistent media narratives about Kardashian’s dating history, which has included relationships with several high-profile celebrities and athletes. Since her divorce from Kanye West, Kardashian’s romantic life has remained a subject of intense public interest and speculation.

For Jordan, the false story emerged during what should be a career-defining moment. His portrayal of twin brothers in “Sinners” has been lauded as a tour de force performance, demonstrating his range and cementing his status as one of Hollywood’s most accomplished actors. The film, which explores themes of family, identity, and redemption, has been a box office success while garnering critical acclaim.

Social media platforms have struggled to contain the spread of such fabricated celebrity content, which often generates substantial engagement before fact-checkers can intervene. The rapid proliferation of these false screenshots across X, Threads, Facebook, and Instagram demonstrates the challenges of moderating viral misinformation in real-time.

Representatives for both Kardashian and Jordan have been contacted for comment regarding the fabricated exchange, but no responses were available at the time of publication.

This incident serves as a reminder for social media users to verify information from parody accounts and to approach viral celebrity content with healthy skepticism, particularly when original sources cannot be readily identified or verified.
