The company featured in the claims, Unitree Robotics, specializes in both four-legged and humanoid robots for civilian applications. While the company has not responded to inquiries about the video, its website and social media profiles highlight its robots performing complex movements like dancing, martial arts, and traversing difficult terrain. This video, which garnered over 680,000 views in less than a day on one X post alone, has also been determined to be AI-generated. The footage bears a watermark leading back to Bilibili, a Chinese video platform, where it was posted with a clear disclaimer that it was AI-generated for entertainment purposes only.
The second video was further manipulated before wider distribution, with added logos and text elements designed to make it appear like a broadcast from Chinese state television channel CCTV Military. However, the logo is incomplete, and the text contains unusual keyword jumble not typical of professional media reporting.
While these specific videos are fabricated, China is indeed incorporating humanoid robots into various aspects of civic life.
