Russia Accused by Ukraine of Conducting Disinformation Operation in India

In a diplomatic escalation between Ukraine and Russia on Indian soil, the Ukrainian Embassy in New Delhi has accused Moscow of conducting a “deliberate disinformation operation” aimed at manipulating an ongoing terrorism investigation in India.

The accusation, made in an official statement released Thursday, claims Russian authorities are planting “fabricated information” with Indian officials through intermediaries. According to the embassy, Russia’s objective is to entangle India in a geopolitical narrative that serves Moscow’s interests rather than New Delhi’s.

This strong rebuke comes in the wake of a significant counterterrorism operation by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA), which recently arrested seven foreign nationals – six Ukrainians and one American citizen – in connection with an alleged cross-border terror plot. According to NIA officials, the detained individuals allegedly entered India before traveling to the country’s strategic northeastern region.
